Library heating and air system replacement to begin in
May From staff reports DAHLONEGA (May 14, 2007) – The replacement of the Stewart Library’s heating and air conditioner system is scheduled for May through early August. The Stewart Library’s lower level will close from May through June while the HVAC system is replaced and all books are cleaned as part of the first phase of the project. Books from the collection are still accessible by contacting library staff members with an advance notice of 48 hours. The library’s main floor will remain fully air conditioned and accessible during normal hours. The GIL-Express service is an alternative to access the library's collection of reference material without a waiting period. After the lower floor is completely renovated, the book collection cleaned and air conditioning restored, phase two of the project will close the library’s main entrance level and all services – circulation, reserves, and reference – will relocate to the lower floor. The library’s main entrance will temporarily move to the rear of the building facing the Newton Oakes Center. During this phase, students and faculty regain full use of the library collection, study space and all library services, which are only temporarily relocated to the lower level. Access to the reference and periodical collection on the main entrance level will remain available. Contact Shawn Tonner, director of Library Services, at sctonner@ngcsu.edu or ext. 1514 for more information. |
