Digest Extra

The North Georgia College & State University Appalachian Studies Center for the state of Georgia is calling for nominations for its Charter Advisory Board. The Board will assist the Center’s staff as it crystallizes the mission, projects, and priorities of the Appalachian Studies Center. The ultimate goal of the Center is to form a diverse Advisory Board that will be capable of taking a holistic approach to determine the Center’s activities for two years. Board members will be selected by and serve at the pleasure of the NGCSU president, meeting on a monthly basis or as needed.

Close attention will be given to potential members who are experienced in one or more of the following subfields of Appalachian Studies: education, environment, culture, economy and health.

To apply or nominate a candidate, please contact Dr. Alice Sampson, Grant Director, at 706-864-1540 or via e-mail at avsampson@ngcsu.edu. Please include contact information, reason for seeking appointment, and how the Center will benefit from the candidate’s expertise. If nominating an individual other than yourself, please make sure that individual has consented to serve. The deadline for nominations is July 31.
