The Symphonic Band, conducted by Andy David, is open to all qualified students by audition. It performs many celebrated genres of music, from contemporary artists such as Eric Whitacre and Frank Ticheli, to traditional pieces by Alfred Reed and Percy Grainger. The music is both challenging and musically rewarding.
The NGCSU Symphonic Band performs both on and off campus throughout the entire academic year. During Fall Semester 2005, the band is appearing as a featured guest performer at Walt Disney World, in Orlando, Florida.
Members of the band are required to participate in all rehearsals and performances and are expected to spend time outside of class perfecting and refining their musical abilities.
