North Georgia offers a well-rounded program in piano with
a variety of opportunities for aspiring performers. In addition
to undergraduate degrees in music
and music education, NGCSU is a recognized leader in
the promotion of the performance of American piano music.
The annual NGCSU All American Piano Celebration has
featured hundreds of guest performers from beginners to seasoned
concert pianists, since its beginning in 1987.
The NGCSU piano faculty consists of Joe
Chapman, Lois Finlay, and Kathy Duren. They are not
only outstanding performers but also are caring and dedicated
teachers with years of experience in guiding piano
students to achieve their fullest potential. In addition
to applied piano instruction, the faculty also offer courses
in improvisation, piano literature, and piano pedagogy.
