NGCSU offers a full range of choral ensembles, including large and small mixed groups, a women's ensemble, and a men's ensemble. All of these groups are open to students of all majors.
The NGCSU Singers, the University's premier mixed ensemble, performs a wide variety of literature, ranging from choral masterpieces to shorter works from the main periods in music history. In addition to presenting concerts both on and off campus, this ensemble tours throughout the United States and overseas every other year. Entrance to this choir is by audition.
The Patriot Choir, composed of cadets in the nationally-known military program at NGCSU, performs men's music from the standard choral repertory. In addition to presenting concerts both on and off campus, this ensemble performs for numerous military, athletic, and university events each term. Entrance to this choir is by audition.
Le Belle Voci, a select women's ensemble, performs a wide variety of literature from the main periods of music history. This group normally tours with the NGCSU Singers. Entrance to this choir is by audition.
The Madrigal Singers, directed by Dr. Lee G. Barrow, is a select mixed group which performs literature appropriate for the smaller vocal ensemble, ranging from Renaissance madrigals to Broadway and vocal jazz. The group also presents shorter operatic and musical theatre presentations. Entrance to this choir is by audition or invitation.
