Homemade Jam with Billy Roper
Thursday, October 12, 2006
7:30 p.m., Gloria Shott Hall
Appalachian folk artist Billy Roper, selected as the 2006-2007 Fine Arts Artist-in-Residence, will be participating in studio art classes and workshops as well as campus wide music presentations this fall.
In this evening event focused on the art of traditional music making, Roper will display a few of his homemade musical instruments, and audience members will be encouraged to join together on stage for an informal bluegrass jam session. Bring your instrument and join us, or y'all just come and listen to some delicious homemade jam!
The concert is free and open to the public. Gloria Shott Performance Hall is located in the Nix Cultural Center, just below gold-steepled Price Hall on the NGCSU Campus in Dahlonega. For further information, please contact the Fine Arts Department at 706-864-1423.
