What are the Regents' Remediation courses?
Courses providing remediation for the Regents' Skills Testing Program (RGTR
0198 and RGTE 0199) are non-degree, non-credit
courses required for students who have not passed the Regents' Skills Test by the time
they have earned forty-five (45) semester hours. Students are administratively
enrolled in the course(s) and must fulfill the requirements of the course(s)
in order to be eligible to take the Regents' Skills Test in that semester. Back to the top of the page.
How many times may I take the courses and the test?
After students have earned 45 credit hours, they may not retake either part
of the test more than four times and may not enroll in remediation for either
part more than three semesters. This limitation prohibits students who have
not passed the test in its entirety from enrolling in college-credit courses
for more than three semesters after earning forty-five credit hours. Back

Grading Policies: Grades of S and U are approved for use in the
Regents' Skills Testing Program remediation courses. If students pass the Regents'
Skills Test in the area(s) in which they pursued remediation, they receive
a grade of S; if students fail to successfully complete the Regents' Testing
Program, they receive a grade of U for the class(es) in which they were enrolled
and are again administratively enrolled in the course(s). Students who are administratively enrolled in the remediation course(s) must satisfactorily complete the coursework in order to be eligible to take the Regents' Skills Test in that semester. Students who do not complete the coursework will receive a U in the class(es). Back
