Hepititus B

The Hepatitis B vaccine is now offered by Student Health Services at the expense of the student. The cost of the vaccination is not included in the Health Fee.

The Hepatitis B vaccine is administered in a series of three shots. Once the first shot is administered, the student should return in four weeks to receive the second dosage. The third dosage is administered five months from the second dosage.

The cost of the vaccine is at a minimum charge (at state cost). Students should prepay for the vaccine at the business office and return to Student Health Services to make an appointment to receive the vaccine.

It is important for students to understand that in order to receive this vaccine they must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of each dosage. This is particularly important to consider for this vaccine due to the extended period of time required to administer all three doses. Students who are considering transferring to another institution or nearing graduation should consider purchasing each dosage separately and make arrangements with their local health department to receive any remaining dosages.
