Enrollment Verification
Beginning October 2004, the Registrars office teamed with the
National Student Clearinghouse and named
them our authorized certifying agent for enrollment verifications. This student
self-service allows NGCSU students access to their enrollment information via the National
Student Clearinghouse web site. Students can login into our Banner system and request
enrollment certifications without contacting the Registrars office.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their education records. Additional information is available at the following site. FERPA allows the disclosure of items considered to be "Directory Information" to parents or other third parties. Directory information is information not generally considered an invasion of privacy if disclosed. North Georgia College & State University considers the following information to be directory information:
"Directory Information" does not include GPA, grades, country of citizenship, race/ethnicity, gender, schedule or student identification number/social security number. Confidentiality Students may request that their directory information be marked 'Confidential'. The directory information then for
these students may not be disclosed to parents or any third party. Students may request this non-disclosure by
submitting the following form to the Registrar's office. Disclosure Authorization Alternately, students may request that all or part of their education records be disclosed to a named individual. By
submitting the following form, the named individual may contact the Registrar's office to discuss the student's specified record.
Copies of authorizations are submitted to and kept in the Registrar's office.
The Registrars Office no longer mails grades to students at the close of a semester. Grades are processed once at the end of the semester within 5 days of the last day of exams. Instructions are available to students to access grade information within Banner. |
