Transfers & the Core Curriculum

Undergraduate students who transfer to NGCSU may satisfy certain areas of the NGCSU core curriculum based on work completed at a prior college. The following guides (in Adobe Acrobat Reader) will assist when advising transfer students regarding the core curriculum and additional degree requirements.

Grade Codes

Grade codes or symbols are used on the NGCSU transcript to indicate circumstances regarding that course. The following Grade Code Notes is a guide (in Adobe Acrobat Reader) describing if or how these courses may be used towards a degree from NGCSU.

Legislative Requirements

All undergraduate students who graduate from a University System of Georgia institution must successfully complete coursework or pass a satisfactory examination on the history of the United States and the history of Georgia, and upon the provisions and principles of the United States Constitution and the Constitution of Georgia. This policy is described more fully in the Undergraduate Bulletin.

Students who would like to take tests to satisfy these requirements should contact the History department regarding the Georgia and United States History requirements and the Political Science department regarding the Georgia and United States Constitution requirements.

Regents' Test Exemption

Undergraduate students with certain scores may exempt either or both portions of the Regents' test. Official test score reports must be submitted to the Registrar's Office in order for the exemption to occur. A listing of necessary exemption scores is available from the Testing Office as well as in the document below (using Adobe Acrobat Reader).
