Refunds

Formal withdrawal must begin with a written request at the Registrar's Office. At that time, specific instructions will be given to students regarding formal withdrawal. Any deviation from this procedure will be considered an irregular withdrawal and will result in the forfeiture or loss of any refund due.

The refund amount for students withdrawing from the institution shall be based on a pro rata percentage determined by dividing the number of calendar days in the semester that the student completed by the total calendar days in the semester.  The total calendar days in a semester includes weekends, but excludes scheduled breaks of five or more days and days that a student was on an approved leave of absence.  The unearned portion shall be refunded up to the point in time that the amount earned equals 60%.

Students that withdraw from the institution when the calculated percentage of completion is greater than 60%, are not entitled to a refund of any portion of institutional charges.

A refund of all non-resident fees, matriculation fees, and other mandatory fees shall be made in the event of the death of a student at any time during the academic session.

Refund of elective charges (room and board) for withdrawing from the institution during a semester will be made on a prorated basis determined by the date of withdrawal.

Refunds to students who are recipients of Title IV funds will be in accordance with federal laws and regulations in effect at that time.

The uniform fee assessed cadets at enrollment is non-refundable. Any funds remaining from government uniform allowances will be refunded upon withdrawal of graduation and upon satisfaction of any college debts.

In case of excused absence, a refund on board, not room, may be given on that part of the student's absence which is in excess of two weeks.

Military Service Refunds

Students who are members of the Georgia National Guard or other reserve components of the armed forces who receive emergency orders to active military duty are entitled to a full refund of matriculation fees paid for that semester, in accordance with guidelines promulgated by the chancellor. Military personnel on active duty in the armed forces who, before the end of their present station assignment, receive emergency orders for a temporary or permanent change of duty location are entitled to a full refund of tuition paid for that semester, in accordance with guidelines promulgated by the chancellor.

Overnight Guests

Student guests may be accommodated overnight in the residence halls by reservation with the vice president for students affairs for $11.25 per night. Guests must provide their own linens.
