Office of Graduate Admissions

Welcome to new and continuing graduate students at North Georgia College & State University.  Our purpose is to encourage and support your graduate education and development. We value your interest in and commit to pursuing graduate study in our growing programs. We offer online services to make the application, financial aid, and registration processes as convenient as possible.

The Office of Graduate Admissions determines your eligibility for admission to the university. Most programs will then determine admission in the program itself with supplemental application forms or personal interviews.

NGCSU is authorized by the State of Georgia Board of Regents to offer the following degree programs at the master's level.

NGCSU, Medical College of Georgia, and Armstrong Atlantic State University have established a consortium agreement to offer an entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree at all three schools, with the degree being awarded from the Medical College of Georgia. For the Summer 2009 term, interested DPT candidates should make separate application to each school of interest in the consortium.

NGCSU is also authorized to offer one Educational Specialist Degree Program

Educational Specialist Degree Program in School Leadership with Building and District Level Emphasis.

Through the School of Education, NGCSU offers an
L-5 Certification Program in Leadership
for PLU credit.

The university also offers several endorsement programs for teachers for college credit which require admission to the university as a graduate student, and through The School of Education, an initial teaching certification is offered.

The close collaboration of our programs with organizations in the private and public sectors fosters research and professional opportunities for our graduate students in the north Georgia area and beyond. Regional and national accreditations lend strength and credibility to the graduate programs at NGCSU.

We encourage you to become involved with the Graduate Student Senate which hosts gatherings of graduate students, helps subsidize graduate students' travel to professional conferences where they present research papers, and arranges for speakers to come to the NGCSU campus.

NEW! GEORGIA ON MY LINE PROGRAMS FOR EDUCATION MAJORS!

Georgia On My Line

Inspired by USG Chancellor Erroll Davis as a way to remain competitive with private online providers, the five new programs will have an edge on quality. Each is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, a status only attained by one private online provider. Click on the link above to view more information!
