Careers in Health Care

Are you interested in a career in Health Care? If so, a service cancelable loan may be a great option for you.

The Georgia Student Finance Commission offers several service cancelable Health Care Programs, also referred to as "Scholarship Loans". Students can borrow funds to attend school for Dentistry, Nurse Anesthesia, Department of Human Resources employees for Nursing, Ladders to Nursing Careers, Graduate School awards for Nursing, Gerontology, Service Cancelable loans in health related careers, Registered Nurse programs, and numerous other health related fields.

Service cancelable repayment requirements vary with each program listed. In the event you do not complete your program of study or do not work in the field you were awarded, your scholarship loan will convert to a cash repayment loan and accrue interest and must be repayed in cash installments. Make sure to read the details of the program you are interested to ensure that you understand the requirements and your obligations.

Allied Health Professionals

The Allied Health Career Program provides service cancelable loans to students preparing for professions in which there is a personnel shortage in Georgia. This loan provides assistance toward the student's cost of education. Loan maximums may be limited annually to amounts that are less than the Federal Stafford loan program. Your loan amount will depend on your field of study and the appropriation of funds for this program. Click here to learn more about the Allied Health Professional Program .

The Georgia Student Finance Authority (GSFA) as part of GSFC manages this unique graduate education service cancelable loan program designed to encourage Georgians to enter - and remain in - the nursing education profession.
