Military education change recommended

Photo of David GrangeThe NGCSU annual leadership conference on May 8-9 drew academic and military leaders from across the country and from various disciplines to focus on "Creating Leaders for Asymmetric Warfare." Perceptions of asymmetric warfare taken from the news media frequently focus on the devastation and loss of American lives in Iraq from improvised explosive devises. Retired U.S. Army Brig. Gen. David Grange offered a much broader perspective.

Top donor gets honorary doctorate

Photo of Mike Cottrell with President David PotterMike Cottrell, owner of Gainesville-based Cottrell Inc., received an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from NGCSU on May 3. The Mike Cottrell School of Business, named for the university's largest benefactor, honored Cottrell during the school's commencement ceremony. This is only the fourth honorary degree title to be awarded by the institution.
