Army ROTC Scholarship
Army ROTC awards
approximately 70 scholarships to new cadets. Army ROTC scholarships pay tuition and fees or room and board, and a monthly stipend ($300 for freshmen,
$350 for sophomores, $450 for juniors, and $500 for seniors)
and $1,200 per year for books. They’re awarded
on merit: academic achievement, extracurricular activities,
personal interviews, and physical fitness. If you are selected
to receive a scholarship, you will have a commitment to serve four years in the Regular Army as an officer after graduating from North Georgia.
*For Georgia residents who are eligible for the HOPE Scholarship,
the Army ROTC Scholarship will be used to pay for room and meals.
Requirements for an Army ROTC Scholarship -
- be a US citizen.
- be at least 17 before the scholarship is effective.
- score 920 on the math and critical reading components of the SAT or 19 composite on the ACT.
- 2.5 cumulative high school GPA or above .
- participation in leadership, extracurricular, and/or athletic activities.
- high school graduate or equivalent.
- pursue an Army-approved academic major.
- agree to accept a commission as an officer in the United States Army.
- meet physical standards.

Army ROTC Language Scholarship
An unlimited number of scholarships are currently available to qualified students who wish to major in Spanish or French and also commission as officers in the United States Army. This scholarship will pay for room and meals, OR tuition and fees. Also provided is a monthly stipend of $300 for freshmen, $350 for sophomores, $450 for juniors, and $500 for seniors, and a $900 per year book allowance. Georgia Military Scholarship
(GMS)
The State of Georgia offers thirty-nine "Full Ride"
scholarships per year to attend North Georgia.
The scholarship pays for room, meals, tuition, uniforms,
and fees. It also provides a $375 a semester stipend for books.
In addition, those students participating will receive NATIONAL
GUARD pay, GI Bill money, and ARMY ROTC contract pay (upon
contracting at the beginning of the sophomore year), combined
equate to approximately $1250 a month.
In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must
be nominated by their local Georgia state assemblymen. Deadline for
the application is March 15. Also, students should apply
for admission and be accepted to North Georgia. Apply early because files are reviewed and decisions are made as soon as the applications are complete.
Effective 15 August 2005, GMS Scholarship recipients
are non-deployable as long as they are enrolled
and remain in good standing with North Georgia and the Georgia Army
National Guard.
Scholarship Requirements:
1. Be a resident of Georgia.
2. Receive a nomination by a State Legislator.
3. Have a minimum critical reading score of 480 and math of
440 on the SAT, have a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, and graduate
high school with a college prep or dual seal diploma.
4. Meet Army National Guard mental and physical standards.
5. Agree to serve as an enlisted member in the Georgia Army
National Guard while a student at North Georgia.
6. Agree to accept a commission upon graduation from North Georgia
and serve four years as a commissioned officer in the Georgia
Army National Guard

Nursing ROTC
If nursing is your professional goal, there is no better
place to begin your career than Army ROTC at North Georgia. Army ROTC
offers you a unique opportunity to gain practical experience
while you receive financial assistance for college. ROTC enhances
you undergraduate nursing education by providing the unique
leadership and management training, along with the practical
experience needed for success, either in the Army or in a
civilian career.
Army ROTC awards
nursing scholarships available at North Georgia. Army ROTC Nursing
scholarships pay tuition and fees or room and board, and $1,200 for books, and
a monthly stipend. They’re awarded on merit - like academic
achievements, extracurricular activities, and personal interviews.
Scholarship winners receive a stipend ($300 freshman, $350
sophomore, $450 junior and $500 senior) for each academic
month plus an allowance for books and other educational items
for a total of four years. If you are selected to receive a scholarship,
you will have a commitment to the Regular Army for four years as an Army Nurse after completing the
program.

Leadership Scholarships
North Georgia has numerous leadership scholarships that
are only available to members of the Corps of Cadets. These scholarships range from $900 to $4,100 per year.
To apply for a Leadership Scholarship, first apply to and be accepted to the university, then email Keith Antonia
(kantonia@ngcsu.edu),
Director of Cadet Admissions, a one-page essay discussing why you
are qualified for a Leadership Scholarship. Be sure to include
your leadership accomplishments during your high school years, your goals for college, and your goals for life after college.
VA Mortgage Center Scholarships
VA Mortgage Center.com is proud to offer three bi-yearly $1,000 scholarships in conjunction with their Military Education Scholarship Program. The process and purpose is simple - many college students currently struggle to meet the financial requirements of pursuing their education, even with the help of financial aid and other scholarship programs.
These scholarships are awarded each year in May and November. The next opportunity to apply will begin on October 1st, 2007 and run through November 12th.
