TESTIMONIAL:
"It is great that you are interested in being a part of the Corps of Cadets. I am a graduating senior and participated in the Corps of Cadets all fours years at NGCSU. I am also a part of the Georgia Army National Guard. As an enlisted soldier, I had the pleasure of being a Military Poilice Officer. As a commissioned officer, I will get the pleasure of being a part of the Medical Service Corps. I would like to tell you about my experience in the Corps of Cadets. I originally joined the Corps of Cadets not knowing what to expect. In fact, I did not even know what the military was all about. My best friend talked me into going through the experience with her. I thought "why not... what do I have to lose!" It turned out that being a part of the Corps of Cadets was the best decision I have ever made. I got to make more memories than I ever would have being a civilian female at another college. Everything I did had a purpose and it wasn't until my junior and senior year that the purposes became so clear. I recieved incredible leadership training every day of my life because they put me in actual leadership positions that were real jobs. The formation of the Corps of Cadets is just like the formation of the Corporation I now work for, Verizon Wireless. The executive staff within Verizon Wireless are impressed everyday by how efficient, dedicated and hard working I am. I owe it all to the Corps of Cadets. Not only was the leadership training stimulating but I also had a lot of fun. I made friendships that I will have forever. So, I just can't tell you enough how wonderful my time was with the Corps. I was challenged both mentally and physically. I can say that I am in the best shape of my life! I feel like they are a family and will always be a place I consider another "Home." The mentors and military department staff are always there for you when you need them and they actually "care" about you and your progress. Anyway, if you want to know more details about the Corps of Cadets, call the Cadet Recruitment Center at 1-888-413-9366, or come to town for a tour. Good luck!" -Brianna Heningman, NGCSU Class of 2006 |
