Nurse Detachment
The
nursing detachment is a new and thriving program offered to
nursing students who wish to be a part of the Corps of Cadets.
The Corps enhances their undergraduate nursing education by
providing the unique leadership and management training along
with the practical experience needed for success; either in
the Army or in a civilian career. The cadets focus primarily
on obtaining their nursing degrees while being afforded the
opportunity to participate in activities offered by the Corps.
The
Army Nurse Cadet Detachment conducts visits to Army hospitals
to provide future Army Nurse officers with a better understanding
of the work environment that they will enter after graduating
from the nurse program at NGCSU. This photo depicts
NGCSU first year Associates' of Nursing program Army ROTC
cadets at Eisenhower Army Hospital with Class of 1998 NGCSU
alumni Captain Sunderland, an Army nurse assigned to Eisenhower
Army Hospital. Captain Sunderland's first assignment
as an Army Nurse after graduating with a bachelor of nursing
degree from NGCSU was Fort Sam Houston, Texas. She has
had one tour of duty in Iraq where she served in an Army field
hospital.
North Georgia offers Nursing ROTC scholarships. The combination
of North Georgia's progressive military training through Army
ROTC and the Corps of Cadets with challenging curriculum offered
through the NGCSU Nursing Department make for a very intense
and rewarding experience that will prepare you to be an Army
Nurse. Click here
