SOUTHEASTERN REGION CONFERENCE – 2007

INFORMATION AND PROGRAM

Travel service:  The local airport is Tampa International Airport.  Ground transportation is available for $24 per person, one way, on Bay Shuttle.  Call  (813) 259-9998.

Lodging:  Clarion Inn, 2701 East Fowler Avenue, Tampa, (813) 971-4710, ext. 3998.  Ask for the "PGM conference rate," which is $79.99 plus 12-percent tax.  The rate is good for up to quadruple occupancy.  This is a new facility!  To qualify for this rate, reservations must be made by January 21, 2007.

Tour On Friday, February 23, from 9 to 10 a.m., there will be a tour of the University of South Florida Botanical Gardens.  On Saturday, February 24, there will be a special tour from 1 to 5 p.m. which will take interested participants to the Museum of Science and Industry ("MOSI").  We will tour the museum and see an Imax movie.  To go on the Saturday tour, please pay the "deluxe registration" fee.

Registration fee:  Regular registration:  $60
                              Deluxe registration (includes tour):  $85
                              Please mail reservations and payments so that conference host Janet Monroe receives them by January 30.

     Either registration fee includes dinner on Thursday, lunch on Friday, dinner on Friday, a hospitality suite with munchies and breakfast foods, and the USF Botanical Gardens tour.  Wow!!

Proposals for papers:  Pi Gamma Mu student members may propose to present a research paper at the convention.  The student should submit the completed research paper in either of two ways:  (1) E-mail the research paper in Adobe pdf or MS Word 2003 format to Janet Monroe at jmmonroe@pigammamu.org .  (2) Mail three hardcopies of the research paper to Janet Monroe, 38305 Ramblewood Boulevard, Zephyrhills, Florida   33541.  The deadline for submitting proposals is December 15, 2006.

Teddy Bear Pageant:  The host chapter requests that you bring a teddy bear, preferably wearing your school colors.  The teddy bears will be donated to Metropolitan Ministries for the local homeless shelter.
