Phi Kappa Phi, the oldest and largest interdisciplinary honor society,
Promotes academic
excellence in all fields of higher education.
Recognizes
outstanding scholastic achievements by students, faculty, alumnae, and alumni.
Currently
recognizes more than 900,000 scholars globally.
Eligibility
Admission to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation only
and requires nomination and approval by a chapter in accordance with the bylaws of both
the chapter and the national organization. At North Georgia College &
State University, membership in the society is extended in April of each year to
Seniors in the
upper 10 percent of their graduating class who have completed at least 24
semester credits in residence and who have a grade-point average of at least
3.5.
Juniors in the
upper 7.5 percent of their class who have completed at least 72 semester
credits--at least 24 of which having been in residence--and whose grade-point average is
no lower than that of the senior initiate with the lowest GPA.
Graduate students who have
completed at least 24 graduate-level semester credits in residence and who
rank, in terms of GPA, in the upper 10 percent of all graduate and
professional students enrolled at the university.
Faculty, staff,
alumnae, and alumni chosen on the basis of academic record, scholarly and professional
achievements, and service to higher education.
