AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR PUBLIC
ADMINISTRATION
Georgia Chapter
Annual Meeting -- March 7, 2003
Dr. Robert M. Sanders, chapter president, called the meeting to order at 6:11 p.m. He asked Dr. Barry D. Friedman, secretary-treasurer, to present a financial report. The secretary-treasurer reported that the chapter's treasury has a balance of $2707.95. This includes a rebate of members' dues, recently received from the national office, in the amount of $1140. The balance reflects an expense of $65 resulting from service charges assessed by the bank, RBC Centura (which took over the Tucker Federal Bank of Georgia), that has our checking account. Dr. Friedman said that the charges started on October 31, and he just noticed them. He has written to RBC Centura to ask that the service charges be refunded and the account be returned to no-fee status. Otherwise, he will close the account this month, before the next $13 monthly charge can be assessed.
President Sanders announced that the next item on the agenda was the election of officers and council members for 2003-2004. On behalf of the chapter council, which acted as a nominating committee, Dr. Friedman placed the following names into nomination:
