SAINTS RUN STRONG AT MERCER INVITATIONAL
Atlanta, Ga. – Both the men's and women's cross country teams finished eighth overall this morning as they participated in the Mercer Invitation hosted by Mercer University.

Running on a new course against Division I, II, NAIA, and NJCAA opponents, the North Georgia College & State University men ran a 5k race while the women participated in a 3.2k race. 10 women's teams participated with 91 runners and 13 men's teams with 118 runners.
The women of North Georgia scored 229 points overall with sophomore Kayce Christianson leading the way with a 43rd place finish in a time of 15:25 followed by freshman Christina Scott in 49th place in a time of 15:53. Senior Anna Roller took 57th place in a time of 16:29 with freshman Loren Blake in 60th place (16:47) and freshman Kyrah Seamon in 74th place (18:30).
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets won the women's race with 35 points with Kennesaw State's Patrina Hayes winning the race in a time of 12:47.
For the men, the Saints scored 203 points to finish eighth and were led by freshman Josh Kerzie in 46th place followed by junior Bryan Harris in 52nd place and sophomore David Beall in 53rd place. Junior Robert Murray followed in 54th place with freshman Dustin LaBarge rounded out the top five in 59th place.
Kennesaw State won the men's portion of the event with 23 points and Georgia Tech finishing in second with 44 points. KSU's Piotr Kaszkur won the men's race in a time of 16:53.
The Saints will take three weeks off before competing in the Georgia Collegiate Championship on October 1 in Macon, Ga.
