FORMER CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER KATIE FOLK COMPETES IN SOUTH CAROLINA HALF IRONMAN
Dahlonega, Ga. - North Georgia senior and former women's cross country standout Katie Folk (Due West, S.C.) finished 37th overall, with a time of six hours and 29 minuets, in the South Carolina Half Triathlon this past weekend.
This was the first half ironman triathlon for Folk in her career. She completed the 1.2 mile swim in a time of 48:49, the 56 mile bike ride in a time of 3:30:11, and the 13.1 mile run in a time of 2:06:06.
As a member of the 2003 women's cross country team, Folk helped lead the team to a seventh place finish overall in the NAIA Region XIII Championship with a time of 24:41.
