LADY SAINTS DEFEAT ERSKINE

Dahlonega, GA – North Georgia College & State University used three-second half goals to defeat Erskine 3-1 to win their second consecutive match at home.

Trailing 1-0 at the half, the Lady Saints scored two goals in the first two minutes of the second half to give them the lead for good.

Kelsey Webb scored the Lady Saints’ first goal off a double assist by Jessica Williams and Katie Turner.  Webb beat her mark and rocketed a shot from 18 yards out past Erskine keeper Katy Jackson in the 46th minute.

North Georgia scored again when Williams took a cross from Sarah Hales and punched it in the back of the net in the 47th minute for the 2-1 lead.

The game stayed 2-1 until Webb scored on a breakaway in the 84th minute for the final margin.

Lindsey Dangerfield scored the only goal for Erskine in the 43rd minute to give the Flying Fleet a 1-0 halftime advantage.

North Georgia (2-1-1) hosts Clayton State next Friday at 4 pm.
