Two teams battle to 0-0 draw in first half

Morrow, GA - North Georgia College & State University battled Clayton State to a scoreless tie in the first half, but was unable to stop the third-seeded Lakers in the second half, falling 4-0 in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament here Wednesday afternoon.

Antoinette Anounga scored the game's first goal in the 50th minute after a cross from Olaitan Yusuf. Yusuf took a ball up the left side and outran the North Georgia defense down the line, to cross the ball to Anounga. The goal was Anounga's seventh goal of the season.

Yusuf struck in the 58th minute off a corner kick by Jennifer Winslett. The junior headed a corner into the near post for the 2-0 lead, posting her sixth goal of the season.

Yasemin Sunbul scored the game's third goal after a scrum off a corner kick in the 78th minute. After a corner by Deahdra Bowier, the ball was rolling around in the box before Cassandra Rapaich found Sunbul for the goal.

Yusuf struck again, this time on a breakway in the 79th minute. She took a header and outran the defense to beat Lady Saints goalkeeper Mary Canon Williams for the goal, her seventh of the season.
