LADY SAINTS ANNOUNCE 2006 SOCCER SCHEDULE, FEATURING TRIP TO HAWAII

Dahlonega, GA – The North Georgia College & State University women’s soccer team will enjoy the fun and sun that Hawaii has to offer, opening the 2006 campaign in Honolulu.

The Lady Saints open the season August 14 and 16 at the Hawaii Kick ‘N Surf Tournament, before returning to the mainland to take on Limestone College to conclude a three-game road trip to open the season.

Fourth-year head coach Chris Adams and the Lady Saints return home on August 27 for the first of six consecutive home games against the University of North Alabama, beginning at 4 pm. The six games will take place over a stretch of 18 days, ending against Oglethorpe University on September 13 at 4 pm. Between the two games, the Lady Saints take on Montevallo (8/29), Erskine (9/2), defending Peach Belt regular season and tournament champion Clayton State (9/8) and the University of Alabama-Huntsville (9/10).

Following the Oglethorpe game, the Lady Saints travel to Savannah to take on Armstrong Atlantic on September 16 at 4 pm. Then, they hit the road to Peach Belt newcomer Georgia Southwestern on September 19 at 4 pm, before returning home on September 23 for a Peach Belt game against UNC-Pembroke at 1 pm.

Following a string of three non-conference games -- against Converse, Anderson and Thomas University-- the Lady Saints entertain Peach Belt regular season co-champion Columbus State University on October 4 at 4 pm, the first of five consecutive Peach Belt games to close the season.

The Lady Saints then hit the road to take on USC Aiken on October 7 at 5 pm, before taking on Georgia College and State University at home on October 13 at 6 pm. The Lady Saints conclude the home portion of the schedule (11 games) against USC Upstate on October 18 at 4:30 pm.

North Georgia closes out the regular season on the road against Lander on October 21 at 1 pm.

The Lady Saints are trying to rebound from a 3-12-1 (1-7) season in their first year of competition in the Peach Belt Athletic Conference.
