UNCP WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS NORTH GEORGIA 6-1
Pembroke, NC – Six different members of the UNCP women's soccer team scored a goal to lead the Braves to a 6-1 win over North Georgia in women's soccer action Saturday afternoon at the Belk Athletic Complex.
UNCP (9-2, 2-1 PBC) got goals for Kelly Jones, Nisa Akins, Ashley McManus, Melanie Cobb, Sarah Day and Erin Rowley to give coach Lars Andersson his ninth win of the year. Jones, Akins and McManus all added assists to their efforts.
North Georgia (0-8, 0-5 PBC) looked as if they were going to get shutout until Kelly Orear netted a ball in the 79 th minute to make the score 6-1.
UNCP will be back in action on Tuesday, October 4 as they travel to Barton. The Lady Saints will play again on Sunday as they face Wingate University at 2:00 p.m.
