Junior forward Jessica Williams got the Lady Saints (2-11-0, 1-7-0) on the board early after knocking in a loose corner kick at the 1:21 mark. The Lady Pacers (3-11-0, 0-5-0) fought back fast and tied the match 1-1 after junior midfielder Kristi Derosiers broke away from the defense and put the ball in the back of the net. Both teams fought for control for the remainder of the half before Williams struck again off of an assist from freshman forward Elizabeth Franklin to give North Georgia a 2-1 lead heading into intermission.
The second half was a battle for possession as neither team could capitalize on scoring opportunities. Both teams took 11 shots in the match and six shots on goal, but it took almost 40 minutes into the second half before another goal was scored. Franklin received the ball from freshman forward Nikki Greene with six minutes left in the match and put in an insurance goal to give the Lady Saints a 3-1 win.
Lady Pacers freshman goalie Jacquelynn Hart worked hard between the posts and made three saves. Sophomore goalie Kelly Conarro tallied five saves and allowed only one goal.
North Georgia plays again on October 21 as they take on Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Fla. USCA plays USC Upstate next Saturday on the road at 4:00 p.m.
