LADY SAINTS SHUTOUT LADY WARRIORS 2-0 IN SSAC WOMEN'S SOCCER
Dahlonega, Ga. - Junior midfielder Brittny Peck (Lawrenceville, Ga.) notched both of North Georgia's (3-2-1, 2-0-0) goals to give the Lady Saints a 2-0 win over Southern Wesleyan University (2-4-0, 1-2-0) and their third victory of the season.
Peck scored her first goal of the match in the 12th minute off of an assist from senior defender Jackie Binford (Lawrenceville, Ga.) when she slipped the ball past the Lady Warriors goalie. In the 80th minute, Peck struck again as she received the ball from sophomore midfielder Meredith Lee (Lilburn, Ga.) and blasted a shot into the goal.
North Georgia's defense was strong throughout the game as they held SWU to only one shot in the first half and only five shots for the entire match. Lady Saints freshman goal keeper Kelly Conarro (Atlanta, Ga.) recorded her third shutout of the season and improved her record in goal to 3-1-0.
The North Georgia women's soccer team will be back in action this afternoon as they take on Shorter College at home in another SSAC battle at 4:00 pm. The Lady Warriors will also play Shorter College on September 18 at home at 3:00 pm.
