LADY SAINTS OUTLAST GOLDEN TIGERS 2-0 IN SSAC MATCH
Brenau's Jenny England Records 13 Saves
Gainesville, Ga. - The North Georgia (2-0-0, 1-0-0) offence pressed the Golden Tigers (0-1-0, 0-1-0) defense all night with 32 shots and got two past goalkeeper Jenny England to give the Lady Saints their first SSAC win of the season.
North Georgia scored their first goal in the 32nd minute when sophomore midfielder Emily Otte (Chattanooga, Tenn.) knocked in a loose ball in the box to give the Saints a 1-0 lead. North Georgia's final lone goal came in the 62nd minute as sophomore forward Jessica Williams (Flowery Branch, Ga.) dribbled the ball through the Brenau defense and beat England to score the goal.
Saints freshman goalkeeper Kelly Conarro (Atlanta, Ga.) recorded her second straight shutout game and made one save. England allowed only two goals out of 32 shots by North Georgia and made 13 saves for Brenau.
The Saints will be back in action on Thursday at 5:00 pm at the Allen Creek Soccer Complex to take on Clayton College & State University. The Golden Tigers next match will be on September 4 as they take on Auburn University Montgomery on the road at 4:00 pm.
