LADY SAINTS FALL 85-83 IN FINALE
Porsha White leads all scorers with 21

Dahlonega, GA – North Georgia College & State University led by 11 at the break, but fell 85-83 against Francis Marion University here Saturday afternoon in Memorial Hall. Porsha White chipped in 21 in the losing effort and Syretha Marble pulled down nine rebounds as the Lady Saints play their final game of the season.
                                      
Francis Marion came out red hot to begin the game with back-to-back three-pointers by Renee Guilliams to give the Patriots a 6-0 lead. Shavone Mack and Brittany Young both followed with buckets in the paint to extend their lead to 10-2 with 17:55 to go in the half. The Lady Saints would answer with a run of their own, scoring the next 17 points capped by a three-pointer from the top of the key by Megan Huffman for a 19-10 lead.

A three-point jumper by the Patriot’s Kirby Marsh would tie the game 21-21 with 11:38 on the clock. Porsha White extended the Lady Saints lead to 10 at 39-29 with a lay-up off the feed from Rachael Jolley with 5:13 until the intermission. Both teams traded baskets until the half where North Georgia led by eleven at 48-37.

The Patriots got right back into the game in the second half with five straight points from Young to cut the lead to six at 48-42. North Georgia got the lead back up to eight with a basket from White off the feed from Lindsey Kitchens with 13:05 remaining.

Francis Marion’s offense continued to heat up and the visitors finally tied the game 74-74 on a three-pointer by Marsh with only 4:24 to play. The Lady Saints would take the lead one last time on a jumper from Lauren Flagler with just under four minutes left before the Patriots reeled off a 9-2 run to take a commanding 83-78 lead off a lay-up by Yasmean Dixon with 1:33 remaining.

North Georgia would cut the lead to two at 85-83 on a three-pointer by Jolley, but would fail to get another shot off as they fell 83-85 to Francis Marion, putting a lid on the season.

Young led the way for the Patriots who tallied 20 points, nine assist, and nine rebounds in the win. White led all scorers with 21 points, while Jolley chipped in 17 points in the losing effort.
