LADY SAINTS RUN PAST LADY EAGLES 91-65 IN FIRST GAME OF ALLTEL CLASSIC Dahlonega, Ga . – North Georgia College & State University flew past its third straight opponent Friday night as they took down Reinhardt College 91-65 in the first game of the 2005 Alltel Classic hosted by NGCSU. The Lady Saints (3-0) and Lady Eagles (2-7) went back and forth in the first nine minutes of the first half and saw six lead changes. North Georgia went ahead 17-16 with 11:23 remaining in the half off of a three pointer from sophomore guard Megan Huffman. The Lady Saints continued to pour on the offense for the next 10 minutes as they built up a double-digit lead off of a lay-up from senior post Lara Seamon. A lay-up with six seconds remaining by senior forward Jeanine Dorminey gave North Georgia a 45-25 lead heading into halftime. The Lady Saints shot 46% for the half and were led by senior guard Katie Williamson's 15 points and four assists. RC shot 35% for the half and were led by junior forward Mandy Anderson with eight points. North Georgia continued the offensive onslaught throughout the second half as they jumped out to a 26-point lead three minutes into the period. The Lady Saints jumped out to their largest lead on the night with 5:21 left in the game after freshman guard Syretha Marble sunk a free throw to go up 82-52. Seamon led North Georgia with 19 points and seven rebounds followed by Williamson who finished the evening with 18 points and five assists. Huffman also finished in double-digits with 14 points. The Lady Eagles were paced by junior forward Denise Kinsler who came off the bench and scored 12 points. Junior forward Reed Josephine scored 11 points and junior guard Kim Brumfield and Anderson each had 10 points each. RC will play the first game tomorrow afternoon against Augusta State University at 2:00 p.m. as the Alltel Classic continues.
