The Lady Bobcats (7-5, 2-5) struggled to get together in the first 10 minutes of the ball game, falling behind 22-14 with 9:06 left in the half. GC&SU cut the lead to two points 30-seconds later with a pair of threes from senior forward Amanda Lomax . The Lady Saints (11-3, 7-0) then went on a 13-0 run over the next five minutes to go up 35-20. North Georgia was up by as much as 13 with 3:57 remaining, but the Lady Bobcats were able to cut the lead to 42-35 heading into the second half. The Lady Saints got a strong first half performance from senior forward Lara Seamon who led the team with 11 points.
In the second half, North Georgia pulled away early with a double-digit lead four minutes in. The Lady Saints held the lead for the remainder of the game, in large part to their stellar performance behind the arc. North Georgia shot 67 percent (8-for-12) from behind the line for the game. Fittingly, freshman guard Lindsey Kitchens closed out the game with a three to give the Lady Saints the 28-point win.
Freshman forward Syretha Marble put in another outstanding game, scoring 20 points and notching her second double-double performance with a game high 14 rebounds. Seamon also had a double-double game with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Megan Huffman came off the bench and scored a game high 21 points. Kitchens poured in 17 points shooting 5-for-8 from behind the arc and senior guard Katie Williamson added 16 points.
Leading the Lady Bobcats was senior forward LeWanna Leon who had a team high 20 points. Sophomore forward Ashley Williams tallied a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds followed by Lomax who also added 11 points.
The Lady Saints will be back in action this week as they take on #23 Clayton State University on Wednesday in Morrow for a match-up of the two remaining PBC unbeaten teams. GC&SU will challenge Lander University at home on Wednesday as well.
