NORTH GEORGIA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RELEASES 2005-2006 SCHEDULE
Lady Saints Heading to the Aloha State for Tournament

Dahlonega, Ga. – The North Georgia College & State University women's basketball team will highlight their 26 game schedule this season with a trip to Kailua, Hawaii to participate in the Fun in the Sun Classic. 12th year head coach Buffie Burson announced today the 2005-2006 schedule for her Lady Saints that will feature 13 home games this winter.

Coming off their final season in the NAIA, in which North Georgia captured its fourth consecutive conference championship and made their seventh straight NAIA National Tournament appearance, the Lady Saints will look to shake up the NCAA and Peach Belt Conference in their first season.

North Georgia begins the season with a trip to the Saint Leo Classic on November 18-19 and will face St. Leo University and Palm Beach Atlantic. On the 25th and 26th, North Georgia hosts the Alltel Classic with Augusta State University, Brewton-Parker College, and Reinhardt College coming to Dahlonega. November ends with North Georgia hosting its fist PBC game on the 30th against Augusta State University.

December opens with two straight conference games against USC Aiken on the 3rd and UNC Pembroke on the 15th. On the 19th, North Georgia welcomes Delta State for a Monday afternoon game.

The Lady Saints take off a couple of weeks for the holidays before heading out to Hawaii for the Fun in the Sun Classic. North Georgia will take on Montana State Northern and Cumberland College on the 29th and 30th in Kailua to finish out 2005.

2006 kicks off with a trip to Greenwood, S.C. to take on Lander University on January 4. The Lady Saints are back in action three days later as they host USC Upstate on the 7th. On the 11th, North Georgia welcomes Columbus State for its annual Spirit Night and then takes on Georgia College & State University on the 14th. The Lady Saints travel south on the 18th to play Clayton State University and then return home on the 21st for the NGCSU Homecoming at 3:00 p.m. North Georgia closes out January with a trip to Francis Marion University and Augusta State on the 23rd and 25th before playing USC Aiken at home on the 28th.

The final month of the season begins with a home game against Francis Marion on February 1. North Georgia then moves onto UNC Pembroke for a February 4th game before returning home on the 8th to pay Lander. The Lady Saints then play three road games in a row at USC Upstate on the 11th, Columbus State on the 15th, and Georgia College on the 18th. North Georgia's final home game will be on the 22nd as they take on Clayton State at 5:30 p.m. and then finish the season on the 25th in Savannah, Ga. against Armstrong Atlantic.

The Lady Saints finished last season 26-8 and 18-2 in the conference in route to their third straight regular season conference championship. North Georgia returns eight-of-10 starters from last year's championship team and will be anchored by seniors Jeanine Dorminey and Katie Williamson.
