LADY SAINTS GRAB 14 VOTES IN LATEST DII POLL

Dahlonega, Ga. – The North Georgia College & State University women’s basketball team received 14 votes in this week’s USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.

The Lady Saints clinched a share of the Peach Belt Conference championship on Wednesday night with a 70-54 win over Columbus State University. North Georgia looks to take the title outright and win its fifth consecutive regular season championships on Saturday as they face Georgia College & State University. North Georgia is now 21-3 overall and a perfect 17-0 in conference play. The Lady Saints are now one of three teams in the nation who are undefeated in conference play and not ranked in the top 25, the other two are Holy Family and California Pennsylvania.

PBC rival Clayton State University fell to 22nd in this week’s poll. The 19-4 Lady Lakers will travel to Dahlonega on February 22 for the Lady Saints final home game of the season.

The USA Today ESPN Board of Coaches is made up of 27 head coaches at Division II institutions. All are members of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
