LADY SAINTS TAKE EIGHT VOTES IN LATEST NATIONAL POLL
Dahlonega, Ga. – The North Georgia College & State University women's basketball team received eight votes in this week's USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll released by the WBCA.
Winners of their last four games by an average of 34 points, the Lady Saints have stormed to the top of the Peach Belt Conference with an 11-3 overall record and a perfect 7-0 conference mark. The eight votes marks the most votes North Georgia has received this season. The Lady Saints will take on their first ranked NCAA opponent this evening as they battle #21 Clayton State University in Morrow. The Lady Lakers moved up two spots in this week's poll with an 11-2 record and 88 votes.
The top three teams in the nation remained the same this week with Washburn University taking 23 first place votes followed by North Dakota and Emporia State.
The USA Today ESPN Board of Coaches is made up of 27 head coaches at Division II institutions. All are members of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
