LADY SAINTS RECEIVE VOTES IN THRID USA TODAY ESPN DII POLL

Dahlonega, Ga. – The Lady Saints of North Georgia College & State University received one vote in this week's USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll released by the WBCA. It marks the third straight week the Lady Saints have received votes in the poll.

The Lady Saints are currently 7-3 and 3-0 in the Peach Belt Conference and tied the program record for most wins to begin a season with seven. North Georgia hit its first three game losing skid since the 2000-2001 season after falling to Delta State on December 19 and dropping two games in Hawaii against Montana State Northern and #25 Cumberlands. The Lady Saints look to get back on the winning track tonight as they take on Lander University in Greenwood, S.C. for their fourth Peach Belt Conference contest of the season. North Georgia has performed well in the month of January, posting a .888 (40-5) winning percentage over the last five years in the first month of a new year.

Washburn University kept its top spot in the national poll with a 13-0 record and 22 first place votes. North Dakota remained a strong second with a 16-0 overall record and two first place votes. Drury University slipped a spot again in this week's poll to fourth while Emporia State moved into third place with a 13-0 record.

Clayton State University received 58 votes this week, just one vote shy of moving into the top-25. Delta State used its momentum to catapult the team to the 18th spot with an 11-0 record.

The USA Today ESPN Board of Coaches is made up of 27 head coaches at Division II institutions. All are members of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
