DORMINEY AND WILLIAMSON SELECTED TO ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM

Dahlonega, Ga. – Seniors Jeanine Dorminey and Katie Williamson were named to the first team CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 3 announced by CoSIDA officials today.

Dorminey, a 6-2 post from Tifton, Ga., majored in Math Education and finished her degree with a 3.91 GPA. She graduated this past December and is currently pursuing her masters in Education at NGCSU. She was selected to the 2005 NAIA All-Academic team as well as the Southern States Athletic Conference All-Academic team. Dorminey is the all-time leader in blocked shots at North Georgia and is ranked second in the Peach Belt Conference in rebounds (10.1 rpg) and blocked shots (2.77 bpg). She has tallied a double-double in the last three games for the Lady Saints and is averaging 9.4 ppg.
 
Williamson, a 5-10 guard from Suwanee, Ga., is majoring in Biology with an emphasis in pre-medicine. She has a perfect 4.0 GPA and will attend the Medical College of Georgia in the fall. She has been named to the NAIA All-Academic team the past two seasons and was a second team selection on the 2005 NAIA All-American team. She leads the team in scoring (13.6 ppg) and leads the league in assist/turnover ration (1.73). The all-time leader in free throw shooting at North Georgia is ranked third in the conference in free throws (.908).
 

The duo has led the Lady Saints to two consecutive conference and tournament championships as well as storming the PBC in their first season in the league. North Georgia is 15-0 in the conference and 19-3 overall this season. Dorminey and Williamson have combined for a 75-17 overall record so far in their three years together and an amazing 48-3 record against conference opponents in the same time span.

Dorminey and Williamson move onto the national ballot where they will compete for Academic All-American honors. The CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA)
