#18 NORTH GEORGIA HOLDS OFF LADY WARRIORS
Central, SC.— Megan Huffman scored 23 points to help North Georgia hold off the Lady Warriors of Southern Wesleyan 80-71 in SSAC basketball.
North Georgia College improved to 11-6 overall and 7-1 in the SSAC as they defeated the Lady Warriors. SWU drops to 7-9 overall and 2-6 in the conference. The Lady Saints, ranked 18th in the latest NAIA national poll held off a second half comeback to secure the win.
Kenya Clements led all Lady Warrior players with 14 points and nine rebounds. Connie Baugh had 13, Savannah Parnell 12 and Rashunda Laster posted 11 in the loss.
Both teams shot around 37% from the field and SWU held the advantage on the boards with a 49-41 tally.
The Lady Warriors travel to Rome, Georgia on Saturday for another SSAC contest with a 2:00pm tipoff against Shorter College. The Lady Saints return to the court on Saturday as they take on 7th ranked Brewton-Parker College.
