In the final minutes, the Lady Saints rallied back with two big shots from behind the arc by freshman guard Megan Huffman (Woodstock, Ga.) and cut the lead to one heading into halftime, with the score 30-29.
The lead changed hands six times in the first ten minutes of the second half until senior forward Brandi Owen (Cornelia, Ga.) knocked down a jumper to give North Georgia a 46-44 lead. The Lady Flames kept the score close, thanks in part to senior forward Stacy Felchner (Scottsville, Ky.) who scored nine points in the second half.
The Lady Saints had a eight point lead with a minute and a half left in the game, but could get no closer than five as North Georgia held on for the nine point lead. |
