LADY SAINTS SLIP OUT OF TOP 25

Dahlonega, Ga. - The North Georgia College & State University women's basketball team fell out of the top 25 in the latest national ranking released today by the NAIA national office.

The Lady Saints are currently 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the Southern States Athletic Conference after defeating conference opponent Southern Polytechnic State University 78-66 last Saturday. North Georgia did receive 23 votes for ranking, and hope to springboard back into the top 25 when new ranking are posted next week.

North Georgia has played three nationally ranked teams in the last month, including the new number one ranked team in the nation, Union University, on November 7 and Lee University, currently ranked 14, on November 29. The Lady Saints will have a rematch with Union in their first game of 2005 at home on January 4 at 6:00 pm.

Another fellow SSAC rival, Brewton-Parker College, made the largest leap in the poll as it went from being unranked to the tenth ranked team in the nation. North Georgia will face the Lady Barons at home on January 15 at 3:00 in a key SSAC matchup.

Next up for the Lady Saints is their final home game of 2004 as they take on Emmanuel College in a SSAC game at 6:00 pm.
