SAINTS SWEEP TROJANS ON SENIOR DAY
Cobb, Shubert, Moss, and Kesler all play last game for Saints

Dahlonega, GA – North Georgia College & State University snuck away with a 2-0 win in game one, and pounded out 13 hits and plated seven runs to take game two 7-2 over Mount Olive College here Tuesday afternoon on senior day.

North Georgia finally put a rally together in the sixth inning when Page Raynor led off with a triple to right center. Laura Voyles came in to run for Raynor and Whitney Propes came to the plate and delivered the games first run on bloop single to left center to make it a 1-0 lead. Leslee Smith followed with the second triple of the inning and Propes raced home to score from first and the Saints took a 2-0 sixth inning lead which would turn out to be enough in a 2-0 win.

Andrea Moss (22-10) picked up the win in a masterful performance as went tossed a complete games, allowing just three hits while fanning eight Trojan batters. Jenny Jackson (16-6) got the tough loss as she allowed the only two Saints runs on seven hits.

In game two, the Saints had a golden opportunity in the first inning with the bases loaded with only one out thanks to a hit and two Trojan errors, but a groundout by Candace Shubert and a fly out by Meigan Grimm ended the scoring threat in the opening inning.

Propes got the Saints on the board in the second with a single to plate Krista Goodlet for a 1-0 lead. Kesler stole home in the same inning for a 2-0 lead. The very next inning the Saints put a three spot on the board thanks to a triple by Grimm to bring home two more runs.

North Georgia would put single runs on the board in the fifth and sixth for a 7-2 win on senior day. Moss (23-10) picked up the win again, going the distance and only allowing three hits and one run while striking out 13.

The sweep put a lid on the 2007 campaign that saw the Saints go 36-19 overall and 12-8 in the Peach Belt Conference.
