SAINTS SPLIT GAMES ON FIRST DAY OF TOURNAMENT
North Georgia plays two games tomorrow to conclude tournament
SALISBURY, N.C. - The North Georgia College & State University softball team split their two games at the Catawba Softball Tournament this afternoon.
The Saints fell in the first game to the host team, Catawba, 3-1 in seven innings. Trisha Snider (2-1) suffered the loss for North Georgia in game one. The Saints' lone run came in the top of the fourth inning when freshman Jessica Skeels connected for her fourth homerun of the season.
In game two, the Saints improved to 11-3 on the year with an 8-1 victory over Pfeiffer College. Senior Andrea Moss improved to 7-1, pitching a complete game with 10 strikeouts. Brittany Cobb went 2-for-3 with a double and a run batted in. The damage was done when freshman Laura Voyles connected for her third homerun, a grand slam in the second inning.
North Georgia returns to action on Sunday at noon against Barton and at 4 pm against Wingate, concluding the tournament.
