SAINTS TAKE TWO FROM CLARK-ATLANTA

Dahlonega, Ga. – The Saints took game one 8-0 with help from Brooke Kesler who went 2-2 with two RBIs, and Lara Seamon's three run homer help route Clark-Atlanta 7-2 in the nightcap.

In game one, North Georgia (24-14) wasted no time getting on the board as they pushed across two runs in the bottom of the first. Brittany Cobb led off the game with a triple and freshman Kyrah Seamon followed and singled in the first run of the game for her second RBI of the season.

The Saints added 3 runs in the bottom of the second capped by a double by Cobb that scored Kesler and Page Raynor. Cobb added RBIs 12 and 13 on the year as she pushed the Saints lead to 5-0. In the third inning, the Saints kept pouring in the runs as Kesler tripled to score Krista Bess and give North Georgia a 9-0 lead.

In the fourth, Kesler added another hit that resulted in a double and plated Bess to give Kesler her 19th RBI of the season and give the Saints a 10-0 win. 

Saints pitcher Dana Lowery improved her record to 9-4 on the year as she tossed a complete game that included 13 strikeouts and only one hit allowed. The loss goes to Kristyn Graf who allowed 11 hits and 10 runs in 4 innings of work.

In game two, North Georgia and Clark-Atlanta went scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when Cobb was hit by a pitch and Bess walked to bring up senior L. Seamon who hit a ball off the left centerfield for an inside the park homerun that gave the Saints a 3-0 lead. For Seamon it was her 7th homerun and 28th, 29th, and 30th RBI of the season.

The Saints continued to get runners across the plate in the fourth inning as Rachel Norris hit a ball off the top of the left field wall to score Megan Grimm and Tootie Johnson and give the North Georgia a 5-0 lead. Bess added to the lead when she tripled to score Candace Shubert and give the home team a 7-0 lead after four innings.

Clark-Atlanta put up their first runs of the day when Marissa Rosales lined a two out double into left center to score Marquita Kellogg and Graf to pull the Lady Panthers within five runs, but the Saints held on to win game two 7-2 and complete the sweep.

Danielle Rainey pitched a complete game and allowed only two runs to improve her record to 3-3 in seven starts this season. The loss is tagged to Cache'tne Barrett who went 6 innings and allowed 9 hits and 7 runs. 

North Georgia will return to action on Wednesday, April 12, as they host West Georgia and celebrate senior day with a double-header starting at 2pm.
