WILLIS NAMED SSAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Dahlonega, Ga. – For the second time this season, North Georgia College & State University pitcher Beth Willis has been Pitcher of the Week for the Southern States Athletic Conference.
Willis, a senior from Williamson, Ga., pitched in six ball games last week and picked up the win in five of those games. In 28.2 innings of work, she allowed only eight hits and two earned runs while striking out 38 batters and walking only five. Willis lowered her ERA to 1.30 after posting an ERA of 0.50 last week. Willis is currently 20-4 this season with 209 strikeouts and only 62 walks.
The 10th ranked Saints are currently 31-12 overall and 19-1 in the SSAC. North Georgia will play again today against 20th ranked Lee University at 4:00 p.m. at the NGCSU Softball Complex.
