SAINTS REMAIN NINTH IN NAIA SOFTBALL RANKING
Dahlonega, Ga. – After posting a 5-1 record in the final week of the regular season, the North Georgia College & State University softball team remained the ninth ranked team in the country in last week's NAIA rankings.
On April 16 against Reinhardt College, the Saints won their fourth consecutive conference championship with a 14-0 win in the first game against the Lady Eagles. After a sweep of RC, North Georgia had a 36-13 overall record and a 24-2 mark in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
The Saints single blemish last week was a 4-0 loss to 16th ranked Lee University. The Lady Flames remained in 16th place this week with a 36-10 overall record and a final record of 23-3 in the SSAC. The other conference school in the top 25, Faulkner University, fell out of the 25 spot and received 10 votes this week.
Thomas University remained on top in the ranking for the third consecutive week with 319 points and eight first place votes. The top 15 teams saw only three teams shuffle this week, but previously 16th ranked William Woods took a plunge to 25th overall after losing seven games last week.
