SAINTS SOFTBALL MOVES ONE SPOT TO NINTH IN NAIA
Dahlonega, Ga. – After sweeping Brewton-Parker College and Brenau University last week, the North Georgia College & State University softball team jumped a spot to ninth in the nation in the latest NAIA rankings.
The Saints are currently 32-13 overall and 20-2 in the Southern States Athletic Conference. After splitting with 18th ranked Lee University Thursday night, North Georgia is still in first place a game ahead of the Lady Flames. The Saints will look to sweep their final two conference series against Shorter College and Reinhardt College this weekend to secure their fourth straight conference championship and a number one seed in the SSAC Tournament.
All top five teams held their rankings this week with Thomas University remaining number one in the NAIA with nine first place votes. Lee moved up two spots to 18th in the rankings and Faulkner University jumped back into the top 25 at the 25th spot after a week's absence.
North Georgia takes to the diamond again tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 p.m. for a home double header against Shorter. Saturday the Saints will celebrate Senior Day at 2:00 p.m. against Reinhardt College.
