SAINTS SOFTBALL RANKED 10TH IN NAIA
Dahlonega, Ga. – After facing ten ranked teams and compiling a 17-10 record in the early part of the season, the North Georgia College & State University softball team is ranked 10 th in the nation in the latest NAIA National poll.
The Saints have taken on 19th ranked Brescia University, 17th ranked Lee University, 16th ranked Bacone College, 14th ranked Spring Hill College, 11th ranked Union University, ninth ranked William Woods University, eighth ranked Science & Arts, fourth ranked Thomas University, second ranked Houston Baptist, and number one University of Mobile. So far North Georgia is 6-8 against ranked opponents this season.
After jumping out to a 27-3 record this season, the University of Mobile jumped to first place in the poll while former number one, Thomas University slipped to the fourth spot with a 21-4 record. Five previously unranked teams made their way into the poll this week. Southern States Athletic Conference rival Faulkner University was one of the five teams to jump in after posting a 21-8 record. The 23rd Lady Eagles will face the Saints in a double header tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. CST in Montgomery. SSAC rival Lee remained 17th in the rankings after posting an 18-5 mark.
