BALL NAMED SSAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dahlonega, Ga. – Senior Annie Ball is this week's softball Player of the Week for the Southern States Athletic Conference. This marks the third week in a row a North Georgia College & State University softball player has received the honor.
Ball, a senior second baseman from Marietta, Ga., led the Saints to their third consecutive conference tournament championship after North Georgia swept the SSAC Tournament. Ball went 6-for-9 (.667) last week and drove in three RBIs and scored four runs. She was selected as an All-SSAC First Team member last week and ranks in the top five in almost every offensive category on the team.
The Saints are currently ranked ninth in the NAIA with a 40-13 record and captured the SSAC regular season and tournament championship for the second season in a row. After taking two weeks off for final exams, North Georgia will take to the field again in Orange Beach, Ala. as they participate in the NAIA Region XIII Tournament.
