NORTH GEORGIA FALLS TO USC AIKEN
North Georgia has chances, but falls to Pacers
AIKEN, S.C. - North Georgia College & State University dropped two Peach Belt Conference matches here Wednesday afternoon, falling 9-0 in men's action and 8-1 in women's action.
On the women's side, Katherine Harrison and Caitie Murphy each put up fights in their singles matches to give the Lady Saints a chance at a point. Harrison fell at number two singles to Elise Toth 6-2, 7-5 (10-8), while Murphy received a point for the Lady Saints when her opponent, Maria Angel leading 6-1, 2-0 had to retire.
On the men's side, although the Saints were blanked, they still had a chance to win a pair of points at number two singles and number two doubles on the afternoon. Sam Moore lost his match at number two singles to Bruno Seves 6-2, 7-6 (4), while Jacob Eastwood and Gustavo Carballal fell at number two doubles 9-7 to Pierre Negri and Wyatt Boylston.
North Georgia was scheduled to return to the courts tomorrow against Francis Marion on the road, but due to predicted rain the match has rescheduled for April 13. The Lady Saints will return to the courts on April 1 against Clayton State on the road, while the mean will host Lander on April 6 in Gainesville.
