NORTH GEORGIA SWEEPS PIEDMONT ON THE HARDCOURTS
Saints and Lady Saints blank the visitors from Demorest

DEMOREST, Ga. – North Georgia picked up two big victories, defeating Piedmont College in non-conference tennis action 9-0 and 6-3 here on a hostile Tuesday afternoon.

On the women's side, the Lady Saints only lost 13 total points all afternoon to the NCAA Division III opponent. Lilia Tzuetanova and Jenny Bridges highlighted the day by capturing 6-0, 6-0 victories at number one and number six singles respectively. The doubles teams of Tzuetanova and Maria Dreaden, as well as Katherine Harrison and Caitie Murphy each picked up 8-0 victories at number one and number two doubles.

Meanwhile on the men's side, after giving up two points due to being shorthanded, the Saints rallied to win six of the next seven matched to claim victory. The day was highlighted by a tough three-set match won by Jake Eastwood at number one over Piedmont's Mike Robertson 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. Gustavo Carballal and Vlad Lumezeanu each recorded easy victories at number three and four singles.

North Georgia finishes up their conference schedules this week with matches against Francis Marion and UNC Pembroke on Thursday and Friday.
